Ultra classic bag protector?

Hey guys and gals,
Took the wife for a ride last night on the new to us 06 ultra classic. She isn't very comfortable. I put the relocator kit on to move the tour pack back but now the bars around the font of the bags are causing her to have to put her feet in a funny and uncomfortable position. Can I take the bag protectors off or do they support the bags?

The bag supports attach to the bottom of the guards. So you have two options to fix your problem:

one is to get a set of street guard supports, they are essentially just the bottom part of the bag guard,

or they make a cut down version of the bag guard where the top portion angles down not straight out.

have you tried raising the footboards for her so that she does not need to reach with her legs? If already all the way up, there are vendors that sell kits with a spacer block that allow you to raise them just a bit more again.

Or...I have the kuryakin movable pegs that attach to the stock floor boards that I'll give you if you pay the freight. They were on my bike when I bought it and I have no need for them. My wife is tall an doesn't need them. Looks like they're designed for short girls that have problems reaching the floor boards.

Also if you get the floorboards to work for her try a set of kurayan passenger highway pegs. My wife likes them and it also gives her a place to put her caves when you have your feet on highway pegs

Sportsnut is your wife tall?? You mentioned the TP relocator kit. I did the same thing and moved the TP back 2-1/2" and my wife is 5'8" I don't think her legs even come close to that bar. I'd think real hard about removing any protection from the saddlebags. Bump into anything and those bags chip like crazy. I'd try one of those floorboard relocator kits.

My wife had the same problem. I bought the guard eliminator brackets, no more issues and I think it looks better.

tucker no she is 5 4". She loves the bike without the bars, and we both think it looks better without them.

Pricey solution, but maybe something like this, which fits your 2006? You'd still get some saddlebag protection if you dropped the bike.
