Default 3 yr. old battery in a Key FOB.

When do most replace the batteries in your FOB?
I like to be pro-active on all my battery replacement!

When I put my bike up for the winter, I pull the fob battery. When I get the bike out the following spring, I replace the fob battery with a new one.

Two years, tops. After that your on borrowed time. One day soon, you will walk out...... and nothing.

I replace them every year at the start of riding season. They are just cheap insurance. Even if one does go bad I use the bypass feature every now and then so I don't forget my code and how to use it.

Buy them from Amazon and you can get packs of them extremely cheap. Just buy from Amazon directly and a name brand as you don't want the cheap chinese knockoffs. I replaced both of mine at about 1.5 years.

They are available for a few pence in most supermarkets. My owners manual says to replace it every year - does nobody read it?!

I was thinking of picking up a package of spares and just keeping them in my saddlebag should that day ever come. They're pretty cheap, I think 1/year would be on the safe side.

I have a battery tester. Still tests strong after 3 years, but replaced it. I keep spares on the bike. I think replacing them yearly is a waste.
