Default Dresser Duals

Finally pulled trigger on vh dresser duals. I will have to get exhaust gaskets. Anyone have any recommendations? Also does the crossover need a gasket too? If so what do I need to get? Anything I need to know before I install these or tips that would make install easier. Thanks

Get the regular OEM HD gaskets. Throw them in the freezer for an hour for an easier install. I don't use a gasket on the crossover.

What mufflers are you running?

Why does putting them in freezer help? Just curious. I am running 3.5" Rineharts.

Make sure you "remove" all the old gasket from the exhaust ports. You want a perfect seal. It's a real tight fight, if you force it the gasket will get distorted and ruined. Freezing them supposedly shrinks them a little bit to make them easier to press fit in.

Also follow the torque sequence for the exhaust port bolts as well. Re torque after a few heat cycles as well.

Lastly, thick side of the gasket in. Thin side out.

Dresser Duals should come with gaskets, they are like the flat HD Screamin eagle gasket not the beveled OEM.

I also use a very thin coat of grease around the outer edge of the gasket to help it slide in without deforming it.

2010 Limited with some stuff

That's not been my experience.
I'm not a Harley mechanic, just work on my own bikes, and a couple wrecks I've rebuilt for fun. In the last 10 years I've installed 4 sets of Dresser Duals and last month 2 sets of Power duals all using the gaskets supplied by V&H or HD SE gaskets with no problems.
