Default Loosing hardcase saddlebags 2015RG/SG?

Two of my friends has lost their saddlebags during a ride from a 2015 Road Glide and 2015 Street Glide. Have you heard about situations like this lately?
We couldn't figure out the reason for that, yet...
Thanks!

The dzus fasteners aren't tight enough. They require tension to work properly. I've heard of a few that discovered the washer was missing which resulted in the fastener having too much slack. Dzus fasteners have been used in many applications for years ( airplanes, motor racing, etc) and are proven, assuming they are used correctly.

look around there are threads on this starting with the 14 bikes.

Personally I have the Bruckas (spelling) hardware on my 03, need to get it for the 13.... that will keep the bags secure and are a good way to resist theft.

Your friends are not the first to have their bags self eject

Default loose bags

My Street Glide lost left and right bags twice. I was stopped both times. Put Brukus kit on now OK. I have owned at leased 7 bikes with those fasteners and only had a problem with this bike. Everything else is great.

Go to any hardware store and get U nuts and corresponding bolts/screws. About $5 and they won't fall off again, nor can someone defeat them from the backside of the bag with a screwdriver. Assuming, of course, that you have hardware stores in Romania.

Amazing that HD keep using cheap fixings to hold expensive items onto the bikes which they they have to replace under warranty. My Heritage tank logos fell off because of the cheap glue, replaced under warranty and 3 dealers have told me they've seen a lot of 15 Heritages with the same problem.

Over 15k on my 14 sg and nothing has ever fallen off. Never even loose on the bags. I open my bags weekly to get something out of them gloves rain gear whatever and give the pins a touch just for insurance purposes and peace of mine. Never had one move yet. I'd say it's the installers who aren't locking them in properly.

I added SS 3/8" large flat washers from Fastenal, the the bag fasteners keep constant tension. The key fob without the battery installed is for just in case were to lose one.
