I read on these forums that the stock air filters in the 2014 touring models are reusable but after cleaning them, are we suppose to apply a recharge oil such as K&N filter oil?

I have been using the K&N filter cleaner, then drying and installing with no oil.

 

Clean, let air dry, install, have a beer.

 

Just buy a K&N and don't fret about it.

Harley describes it as a paper filter, so no it's not really reusable and no it should not be oiled.

I washed mine as described in the service manual. Had a unrelated problem to the bike and took it to the dealers. Told them I had washed the filter as described. They told me it wasn't reusable. I showed them the manual. He said it was a mistake and replaced it. He said you can't wash paper filters.
