Default Is a Dremal tool adaquate to cut out the cat?

I want the CAT out, so will a dremel tool cut through the exhaust pipe? Will that work to get the CAT?
Aside from the metal exhaust pipe, what will I need to dig out the CAT material?

you will probably need many cut off discs to complete the task -- I cut spring steel with my dremel --

I don't know what "spring steel" is or how it compares to the steel of an exhuast pipe. Can you fill me in?

You'll be there all week. I bought a air powered cutoff wheel, die grinder and a air hammer from Harbor Freight for less than $45 and they worked just fine. I do suggest using a good size compressor if you have access to one, my little pancake style almost had a heart attack....

I would invest in a angle grinder and a couple cut off wheels, along with the advised safety glasses. Get the good 3M or similar cut off wheels, since one will do the work of 6 cheapies. They have a greenish edge and last a LONG time.

You'll also need to weld it back together...?

Default Decat...

The local dealer here always has at least one in stock that has already be gutted and re welded. Check with them before you start cutting.

Will do, but if the local MoCo charges more than 200, I perfer to cut my own using my Dremal. That is if a dremal can cut through the pipe.

I cut my baffles and cat out with a hack saw. Was a LOT of elbow grease. Used a 18T blade. Came out clean but today, the following day, my wrists, hands and arms are all sore from cutting and from pulling those damn mufflers off, haha.
