MCC Seat lowering

I have a 2009 Electra Glide Classic and before I pull the trigger on getting my seat lowered one inch, I would like to know how others, who have had this mod done, liked the after effects. Does the bike handle any better? Does the fairing feel heaver? I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and ride about 95% of the time 2 up. Thanks

Had Alan with MCC lower my 08UC stock seat by 1.5 inches and move me back about the same. I wanted to sit lower into the bike. It did not make the fairing feel any heavier. I am 6' with 32" inseam and ride 2up about 75% of the time. Another benefit to GF is her being able to see a bit better over my shoulder(s) as she is 5'. I chose the double decker memory foam for myself and GF.

How can the bike handle any better by having the seat lowered?
Fairing feeling heavier?

I think you are reading way too much into this mod.
BTW, most people do it for two reasons;
1. You are too short and cannot flat foot when stopping
2. You want your ass to feel more comfortable

If 1. is the answer I would recommend going to your local dealer and trying some lower seats.
If 2. is your answer I would recommend going to your dealer and trying some other seats.

The handling change comes from lowering the total center of gravity. More apparent at low speeds.

I haven't heard anything bad review wise out of MCC. Guy i worked with had his done and swears by them.

I've had two seats done by Alan. Didn't notice any change in handling but the seats looked and set better than before and he does top notch work.

Alan lowered a Ultra LOW seat for me. It took a little time in the saddle to really get used to the seat but it was worth it for me. Lower, better shape, and looks really good, especially for a stock seat. Nobody can make a stock seat fit everybody, call Alan and tell him what you want.

MCC lowered my seat on the Road Glide Ultra, better feel with feet on the ground without compromising suspension height. I've also thought of adding about a 1/2" sole to my riding boots. But the seat served me well on two road trips. You have to get it scheduled into their work load. Had mine done during the winter using the snow down time. Sure beats the price of a new seat.

I have a 14 SG and tried a couple seats including Corbin.

I decided to send the stock seat to MCC to lower 2 inches, narrow the nose and help mama with her seat.

The results were awesome. Very comfortable and excellent quality.

I cannot recommend them more!

Good luck

I am sending my seat off as recommended by folks on the forums and should have it back for review hopefully next week.

I've had two seats done by MCC, excellent workmanship. Much more comfortable than before. I'm 5'8 w/29" inseam and I can flat foot it now.
