Default Inner Primary Removal Help. - What am I missing?

I have the compensator, clutch pack, Chain tensioner, starter (pushed back) and all the bolts removed, and its hung up on something. seems to be the bearings that the main shaft comes through. I thought they were pressed in to the inner primary. I tryed to gently pry it off with a pry bar, but I'm afraid to really crank on it in case i missed something.

What am I missing here, can't find anything I missed in my manual, but it doesn't really have much in there for this, unless its somewhere other than the primary chaincase section.

Just tap it with a dead blow hammer in a few spots. Just hold it in the other hand so it doesn't fallt to the floor!

What year is your whip?

You are right, the bearing is pressed into the back of the inner primary, the race is pressed onto the main shaft.

Could someone have replaced the IP bearing and race combo with a sealed unit from baker or jim's? And the center of the sealed unit has seized into the main shaft?

Got another question for ya, it looks like it's my shifter seal that's leaking. I pulled the snap ring and the washer, but I'm not seeing any seal in there. Does something else need removed to access the seal?

I don't have my seals yet, the ups guy should bring them tomorrow. I have a main shaft seal coming too. I'm planning to pull the sprocket to look at it, but I am thinking the shifter shaft seal is th culprit.

What do you think? Worth pulling the sprocket just to be sure?

look on the backside of the sprocket. if it looks cleaner then your shift shaft I would say its just the ss. seal. if it is as dirty then I would say trans main gear seals.

I would bet that it is just the shifter seal. Known issue as I have seen several threads on here about it. I have also replaced mine on my 06 Ultra. Try and get a Cometic seal as they have a double lip seal and is way better than H.D. I my opinion...

In the pic of the case with seal and sprocket, did you clean that surface before taking the pic? If not it appears the seal is not leaking because there is no oil trail coming anywhere by the seal.

I would pull the pulley and replace every seal. Your already that close. That way you don't have to worry about going back into it.
