I have 6 yr old OEM dunlops on my 2010 with 9k miles. They still have decent thread on them. The bike sat in a garage till last year when I bought it with 500 miles. I have since put 8500 miles on it. Recently when I hit 70mph it feels like I'm riding over little pebbles. I'm getting new tires this weekend. Hope that fixes the problem. The tires feel and look as if they have even wear.
14000 on Metzlers isn't that bad. Did u experience any handling issues?
just put Metzlers on front and back, will keep and eye on them. Was curious as to the mileage everyone gets as I was getting over 17k on the rear on Dunlops.
I run 42 rear/ 40 front. I didnt have any handling issues. Not really concerned about the mileage, which is pretty good I suppose, but the rear (ME888) was supposed to be better than the 880. I would liked to have gotten the rest of the season on them anyways. We dont have any Metzeler reps up here, and the closest warranty location is in Quebec. I thought that a rep might have been interested in them to give to their R&D dept., nobody seems interested! I'm not interested in any compensation as I wont use these tires again, I thought they should see the way the tires are coming apart.
As I said, I just bought new tires through Dennis Kirk and am waiting for them to arrive. I was considering Metzlers but after reading some of the tire posts on this site I decided to order Dunlop American Elites.

The reason I had asked about the pressure is because you can trash a good set on one good ride if your pressure is low. All it takes is once and the tires are toast. It was kind of odd that both tires seem to have had problems when you consider that they are different molds and sizes. I've used ME880s before and never saw those issues. But then again you never know.
