A better way to tighten clutch jam nut...with pics
First off, I can't take credit for this, I saw it on the Fuel Moto site. Just thought I would share.
Tightening the jam nut when you do a clutch adjustment has always been a PITA. I have always used an 11/16" offset wrench. It worked, but you really had to be careful that it didn't slip off, or that the wrench wouldn't scratch the primary cover.
I've seen where some guys take a socket and weld a nut on the end, but this is an easy alternative.
First off, buy an 18mm Spark Plug socket. I recommend this one I got from Amazon, but you can buy from whoever. Just make sure it's a 6-point and not a 12-point.
You don't have to do this, but the socket isn't an exact fit, so to give it as much "purchase" as possible, I ground the end a little to eliminate the chamfer inside the opening.
Stick your Allen wrench thru the center, and use a 13/16" wrench, and you're all set!

The jam nut is 11/16" not 18mm as TD stated, I know an 18mm will work as I have used it. A spark plug socket in 3/8" drive in the correct size of 11/16" is available online. Jim's also sells($$$$$) a tool with a handle already on the 11/16" socket, if you have the means it's pretty cool. The tip is appreciated Talldog.

Tall dog, where the heck were you earlier this summer with this tip? I've already got sockets like that!
I wanted to make sure everything was right when replacing my "from the factory funky clutch cable," so I looked all over town for an 11/16" offset, but ending up buying a "no longer made in USA Craftsman (see the Craftsman tool thread) ) entire set of offsets that cost me $39, just to get one wrench, to properly and positively set my clutch after the cable replacement.
Jeesh, man, be a little more timely with your tips, would you?!
(All in good fun.....wish I would have thought of it!) Anyone wanna buy a set of Craftsman offsets?
