JW Speaker Evo 2
So I put the new Evo 2 on my '16 street glide. Wow, not impressed at all. Now I didn't aim it, just installed in where the factory was.
Am I missing something? Is aiming this a crucial step? It reminded me of a flashlight on a bicycle.
yes, I'm being a little dramatic about it but I was under the impression this was the light to have. I think the stock shows the road better at night.

I tried it too. Same impression. I hate the cutoff. When leaned into at turn you can't see around the bend, even with high beam on. When someone rode behind me their headlight cast a shadow of my bike in my line of vision directly in front of my bike. Everyone gets hung up on the lumen output, because that's the way we've judged halogen lighting for years. LED isn't the same. Lux is what's important. These headlights don't do well for a motorcycle IMHO. I took it out, my buddy says he want to try it to replace his Daymaker Projector. I put my dual halogen back in. I have Fuel Moto LED bulbs now. I'm really happy with them so far. I'm still considering Clearwater driving lights to supplement. I ride in rural areas, and a lot after dark. I don't need any quadrapeds jumping out of the darkness and trying to kill me.

I have whatever LED deals came with my Limited and they are pointed correctly and fogs are always on.
About the worst lighting setup I've ever ridden with.
I'm going to keep these because they go with the bike but I'm going to find some standard bulb takeoffs so I can actually ride at night safely.
Curvy road or mountain riding is pretty scary with the things. Like B said, you can't see into the corners...

I have a evo2 in my 14sgs and like it. The evo2 is a little hard to get used to but I like the width of pattern. I understand why some don't like them with the cutoff while cornering but high beam corrects that on the evo2. I also added led fog lights on my engine guard and wired to high beams. Plenty of light now.

Well I would aim the light before drawing a conclusion. I've got a 14 SGS with no extra lights up front. I tried the Evo 2 and you can add me to the "Evo 2 headlight hater club". It is a bright and white light but I found the sharp horizon distracting and I really didn't like riding into dark curves. The tilted horizontal cutoff/lack of visibility through the curve thing happens with the stock halogen headlight too but it is not as severe. I really don't think the stock light is a "POS".
