Default Fork oil in my air line

So yesterday the weather is mid 60's in the Vancouver/Portland area so the wife and I decide to go for a ride up the Columbia River Gorge. We drive on the WA side on HWY 14. Beautiful drive I recommend it to everyone. Well before we take off I decide to check my air pressure in my front and rear shocks. I just had it serviced a few weeks ago. So I check the rear and like my pressure. I then pull the cap off the front and put on my pump to check pressure. I decide that the pressure is okay so I take off the pump and get a hand full of fork oil. Does this mean that my fork seals are shot? The front does feel a little spongy but nothing I can't handle. How big a job is it? Can I do it my self or am I better off taking it to the shop? I have an indy that I go to since I'm not dealing with any kind of a warranty. I can wrench good but I have not pulled forks before.

Relax. It's normal to get a little fork oil in the air lines. There's no check valve built into the system, so your forks are free to pump oil into the air lines.

Unless you have oil dripping down your fork lowers, your seals are fine.
