I've accidentally hit the rev limiter a few times when riding hard and then I will have a check engine light come on later. Is that normal? I am guessing since it cut off the fuel or ignition, whatever the rev limiter does, that it could trigger a check engine light due to this. I have always just cleared the code and it doesn't happen again until I am riding hard and sometimes I don't realize I hit it, probably shifting about the time it hits anyway and then later I will see my check engine and battery light on. I can't remember what the code is, I'm sure its on my bike history now. Just thought I would ask.

 

Hitting the rev limiter should not throw a code. Really need to dig up the code and see what it is.
