Default Painting mid frame air deflectors

I just picked up a set of mid frame air deflectors for my Road King and I'd like to paint the air deflectors to match my bike.

My bike is vivid black and I know I can get a rattle can and some clear coat but is there any issue with the paint adhering to the plastic material the deflectors are made out of? Do I need a special primer?

Thanks all!

Use some"adhesion promoter" and you'll be A-OK. Something like this will work.

They make rattle cans especially for plastic.

Look here http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion-for-plastic/
