Default Indy recommended me this build

I have a 2000 flhtci with 71k on the clock, i told him i had 5k to spend on the bike and this is what he suggested

Wiseco 95inch big bore
Headwork including porting
Convert from MM FI to Carb CV 40
SE cam plate upgrade with SE oil pump and Hyd tensioners
Primary chain tensioner, stock one cracked
New lifters and adjustable push rods
SE inner cam bearings
Redshift 557 cams , based on my riding style and needs
New Dunlop Elite tires front and rear installed
Neck bearing adjustment
Swingarm bushings
Fork oil replacement
S&S power true dual headers

All the above for 5k taxes in maybe a little less, does this price seem like a good deal?

What are your experiences with the Redshift 557 cams?

The motor work seems like a good plan with going to a carb and the other new goodies, nothing crazy and a pretty proven combo all in all.It would probably run dang good.

Seems kinda spendy to me for what you are getting in return. BUT I do my own work too so my opinion is probably irrelevant.

2 tires =300 bucks to me
Fork oil change about 25 bucks
Swingarm work maybe 200 in parts ?? I went Glide Pro which was a little more but way worth it.
Neck adj is a pita with the fairing but maybe 2 hrs ?? for a pro, Takes me 2 hrs on my king.

So being overly generous 3500 buck in the motor ?? I recently did all but heads , SE camplate and pistons but added a PCV with Auto tune and purchased the specialty tools as well for about 1100.

Your money and you be the judge man.

See if you can work in gear drive cams. Your year engine is perfect for them, and you'll never have to worry about tensioners again. Torrington bearings instead of SE.

Maybe i should have mentioned earlier this is in Canadian dollars and its not doing well right now against the US dollar, just the SE cam plate upgrade is 610.00cdn and the S&S true dual power headers is 608.00, so parts add up fast in the great white north

I saw that you're in Canada, but the exchange rate didn't enter the mind.

OP: I too do all of my own work myself, so I genuinely don't know what the going rate is to have someone do all of that and have to pay for the labor portion. As far as that goes - no input. However, I didn't see anything about compression releases. Be it auto or manual, do yourself a BIG favor and include those in the build. If you don't, you're likely to regret it.

Good luck to you. I took a 88" and put a 97" S&S kit in it years ago, and that was one FUN bike to ride. You're going to get the performance gains you're looking for (should anyway), and be one happy rider.

I don't see any mention of a tuner. Will you need to get it Dynoed?
