Default 200 rear tire

I just got a rear tire 200 55 17, and have yet to install it. My question is I have a 2012 street glide, and has anyone ever lowered the rear of a street glide with this tire size on the rear? I'm fine if I can't lower it the sales man said it would run close, but if there was a way I would like to know. Thank you.

Street glide is already lower than the rest of the touring line. If you lower the rear you may get tire rubs quite often, depends on how stiff your rear suspension is set and how much lower you go, not to mention how much weight you have on. That rear tire is about 5/8" taller if I remember correctly, also quite a bit wider. Not sure on a 12 but check your wiring harness as well, some of the older models wire loom ran inside the edge of the rear fender, could become quite an issue if the clearance is reduced.

Here's a link to a tire calculator that will let you compare various sizes for any differences.
