Default V & H Dresser Dual Problem

I have V & H Dresser Duals and Monster Rounds on my FLHXS that were installed before delivery by my Dealer. The front heat shield had been rattling and even broke the rear clamp. Now I noticed that the welds have broken that holds the clamp in place. Having been in the welding business over 35 years, I feel these spot welds are poor and should last longer than 18 months.
A new heat shield is almost 300 bucks and 6 weeks delivery! Vance and Hines should step up and warranty this issue as I see many others have had the same problem.

Side Note: I see that my under frame connection by the torca clamp has been spot welded. Is this normal?

For what the cost I agree sounds like they should step up. I have the same set up and no issues here.

I have heard others complain about the same thing but did not get any help, I agree they need to have better products or they will loose there repartition. I have V & H pipes and the chrome is peeling off but mine are 6 years old so even though I expect them to last longer I do not expect any help.

How many miles?? Tighten of exhaust should be added to every oil change.Start at header and move to the rear.If low miles i would go after the dealer.
I would have them remove the header and YOU inspect the gasket at the head.If installed and TIGHTENED properly their should be little to no ridge imprint in the gasket.Or even imprint.
I installed my VH Header after my S&S Header broke with less than 10k on the header. After gasket inspection i had a heavy ridge to the bottom side.I ate the header cause i wasn't original owner.
I tighten my new VH header after 100 miles and will ck. at all oil changes.
Once they loosen up they will find the weakest area and well you know
