Default Replacing cartridge style forks???

So 2002 - 2005 touring bikes (except Road King) come with a cartridge left side fork. Am ordering Progressive suspensions drop in lowering front kit to lower the front end after installing a 21 inch wheel. Is it as simple as removing the cartridge and dropping in the new springs? OR do I have to get a conventional left fork before installing the drop springs?

Drops right in. Everything you need is in the kit. You are going to upgrade both forks with the kit.

So for the left fork, use the spring compressor to remove the old spring off of the cartridge and install the new spring onto the cartridge. Is that correct?

Check Progressive's website, as they indicate that their kit will fit your bike. They also have a help line you can phone, plus an email address. I'm certain we used to be able to see the fitting instructions on their website. Found 'em! Look along the bottom of their website for Tech Info.

I did call them when I was ordering and they said you replace the unit. The instructions clearly state nothing needs to be done to the left side. You only replace the right side spring.
