Old guys are into comfort, young guys are into style no matter how uncomfortable it is.

Some are nice to look at when you see all the craftsmanship that goes into them and appreciate the talents of those that build them - but not a look or ride for me - I'm half way between stock and full-blown custom....

It's like the old school lowriders...hydraulics were "cool" and entertaining but it made the ride horrible.

Its just guys modifying their bike to THEIR liking. Compare it to the guys, me included, that have these built up street cars with monster horsepower. They are not looking for MPG, comfort, etc. its built for a purpose. These built up bikes are built for their own purpose, around town, bike shows, just to have fun on. Some bikes are built for total comfort and to be able to ride long days. Hell, some of these guys might have another bike at home for long days in the saddle

To each his own.
I bought my bike because I love to ride. Every modification I have made to my bike has been for the purpose of making it run better, handle better and be more comfortable on the road.

Others have different reasons for owning and modifying their bikes. I've seen a lot of "interesting" bikes that somebody obviously put a lot of time and money into, but I wouldn't want to ride it around the block.

The big front wheel with the skinny tire on a bagger is one of those "styles" that I think just looks silly, but then, I've never been one to followed the latest style anyway.

I have to agree on the trend. I'm not really into the huge front tire either. I think a 21" rim is about as big as I would go. However I have to disagree on the age thing. I'm 38 which isn't young but not quite old yet. I also grew up on the back of my dad's harleys so maybe that has something to do with it. Don't get me wrong I modify mine to my personal preferences for comfort and looks. And as long as the person is paying for it they can build it anyway they like. Just not my thing!

Totally agree. Some of them look good, but not for my taste.

I'm definitely not into the big wheel slammed look. I like traditional styled Harley bikes. I'm in my 30's, and have felt that way for a long time.
