I went for a 300 mile ride today, the first long ride since I bought my 2007 RK Custom.
The seat kicked my ****! It's getting replaced with a Mustang solo ASAP.
I got caught in bumper to bumper stop-n-go traffic on I-95 between Fredicksburg and DC. The oil temp got up to 250 degrees.
Other than that, anawesome ride in Northeast VA, the bike worked awesomely. No gear or brake noise and no exesive heat with an ambient teperature of 71 degrees. As for gas mileage, who cares!
I think for what you have do to the bike that would be a normal temp in traffic. I was running my bike hard last weekend in 90 deg temp at 85 to 90 mph for 90 miles at a time and was seeing 240 deg. I can take it out for a ride locally and normally only see temps inthe 210 to 220 range.
I still have my stock seat. Added apes, and I can ride longer without much all over pain. I will have mean city do a seat mod once I get the Mustabg solo for myself. That way I have no down time. I like the look of the stock seat for two up, but the solo mustang for solo. Now, if I could only get that darn money tree to grow in my back yard, I will be all set.
