I've ridden both the 07 civilian and police models. They're a great bike. 45000 trouble free miles on mine. Other than y pipes cracking. Most of the replies about them being a bad year are Internet hype. The only real difference in 08 was drive by wire for which there was numerous issues, 6 gallon tank. I need a break after 200 miles anyway as do most people so that's not a deal breaker for most. They 08's also were the first to have the rubber isolators the rear hub which can be retrofitted to an 07. Both have too tall a gears which is easily correctable with a sportster pulley swap. I have had numerous people try to convince me that the 09 and up is a better frame. I've ridden a lot of them. I can't feel a difference in a stock bike. They're all 700+ lb baggers. They don't corner well at all when compared to a 20 year old Ninja. Some people have to the newest model and believe it's the best. I'm not one of those people. I doubt you are are you wouldn't be looking at 10 year old RoadKings. For the extra grand I would go with the lower mileage bike especially if they are in similar condition. The air ride seat is the most comfortable seat going particularly for longer legged riders. One cautionary note. Cruise Control is obsolete for the 07 model year. There are people that have had success in adapting 06 and older cruise units but it's tricky. Good Luck in your purchase.

Back in September I traded in my 07 Police Road King with 70,000 miles, when I bought it it had 600 miles on it. It was a great bike . First year of the 103 with a 6 speed. That was a great bike for me .. Still have an 06 that the wife rides..

I've got a couple buddies on '07s that really dig them. I too would go with the lower mileage model. Seems that I recall that the first '07 Police models with the 103s did not have the compression releases. At that time, Harley had a bulletin or recall and replaced/update some parts with the Screamin Eagle parts that had the compression releases. Hopefully, being a service bike, that was done or came with the updates.

I've got an '07 Street Glide. The only work other than mods done on the bike has been fluid and tire changes. I get tired of people bashing the '07's without any evidence offered. My bike has given me nearly 9 years of absolute trouble free fun. It's paid for, doesn't eat much and never complains.....I think I'll keep her a while longer.

I'd go with lower miles. But 07 was a funny year. They came out with IDS to mask problems. They went to bigger tranny shafts, different comps, differnt tuning too.
But for 5-6k what do you expect.
The one wild card is by 70k alot of stuff may have been replaced. Voltregs, sensors, cluthes ect, start to go. I am at the point where I feel better about my bike with 70k, then 50k, since i have replaced some stuff.
