Cool Turn Signal Debacle

I bought a 06 Street Glide, wrecked. Of the many things needing replaced, the front turn signals. However, what I thought would be a simple job turned into a horrendous debacle. The original front turn signals from the 06 street glide are 3 wires. I needed another set of turn signals. At the time I searched high and low not realizing at the time my nightmare was just beginning. I thought the turn signals I bought were the same. At the time I didn't realize it but the ones I bought only had 2 wires instead of 3 wires like ones on my bike. How could that be the part numbers are the same, are you kidding me? I was a bit p- off why any would cut the wires on a perfectly good set of turn signals when the connector plug was right there within reach inside the fairing. My brain soured and went numb as to the difficulty removing the wires from the housing. However, I learned something from a HD Forum member on this site how easy it was. That worked fine with the 3 wires on the bike but the 2 wire contraption was totally different. The spring platform inside where the blub rests on are different. How do you get the platform (I call it) to line up and pop out with the spring. I have had no such luck moving it one way or the other. It moves up and down, as it should. The next thing that concerns me what kind of nightmare will I have exchanging the 2 wires for the 3 wire set up I need. I hope I explain this well enough. Any help would be appreciated.

FRONT turn signals are THREE wire...that way you get run and turn lights.---SOMETIMES the ground is through the chassis - so you only need 2 wires- the bulb socket will have 2 brass contacts in the bottom

REAR are 2 wire- turn signal only- may only have 1 wire if the ground is through th chassis- the socket will have 1 brass contact in the bottom

You can wire your front to be turn only if you want- but that way you have no running lights which has safety and vehicle inspection implications.

it that case you wire to the black wire from the bike, that's your ground.

brown and violet are the turns signals

blue are the running lights

I have a number of bikes without any turn signals ( my arm does that), some without any running lights- but turn signals...and some that do it all.
