I hadn't noticed until today but when I am cruising along in gear the shifter arm seems to 'rock' or move a little with the bumps. It is not solid in the stop. Is this normal or do I need to fix something?
normal- the linkage has some slop normally- but check that your fasteners are tight
this is more likely with aftermarket longer ( heavier) levers or linkage...one of my Pals bought a "kustom" billet linkage at a bike show--big and heavy and cool looking.
he soon found out that the extra mass would cause a downshift under hard braking.

I agree...check the bolts...I find loose stuff sometimes when I wash my bike...Try that also.
imo its the motor moving around in the rubber mounts your feeling, its normal.
But you don't want any slop where the pinch bolted levers connect to a splined shaft. There's one up front that hooks to the shaft that you shift with, and one in the back where a splined shaft exits the transmission, behind your inner primary. Keep those pinch bolts tight.
