Default Did V&H salesman lie to me?

Last year I was in Reno for street vibrations. I went to the V&H booth to look at some Dresser Duals. The Salesman pitched an offer to me and my cousin. 2 sets of Dresser Duals installed for $1000.00. We thought this was a pretty good price however I was gun shy due to not having a programmer after the DD's were installed. The sales guy said they'll take care of it by "reseting" the computer and it will re-calibrate itself (or something to that effect) "we do it all the time". I just did not feel right about it. and with another year under my belt of riding and being on this forum, i've never heard of such a thing. Am I wrong?

They could have possibly installed the two sets by using factory seconds and then using the same software that the Dealers use to recalibrate the ECU. But I wasn't there so I'm just guessing.

Thanks, I think I remember him saying something about using a resistor to reset? I can't really remember. But dresser duals on my bike and my cousins bike for $1000 bucks. They retail for $459 and being they are using a promo special and installing, i thought it was a fair price.

Was that quoted price with new resonators or the ones that you already had on the bike?

Man, do I feel like an idiot because I don't know what the hell you're talking about! My impala ss had resonators right before the exhaust tips. But I don't think I've ever heard of them being on my bike.

Resonators = mufflers. Same thing on a motorbike, just different terminology.

Ahhh Gotcha! No I have my own. At that time I had straight fishtail pipes with no baffles or fiberglass packing of any kind. Now I how a set of CFRs but I still run the straight fishtails because I like the sound. CFRs are too quiet with the stock Head Pipe.
