Shovelhead Bob(moderator here) had aHD trike's inner fairing painted a two-tone to match the bike and it looked/looks awesome. This is what I'd suggest to you.

HERE is the link to the pics.

ITS HARD TO SEE. BUT IT APPEARS AS IF THE PERIMETER IS THE BIKE COLOR. AND THE FACE IS BLACK. THAT IS A COOL IDEA. NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT OPTION. HOW MUCH DID THAT SET YOU BACK?

If you click on the bike in the first pic I linked you to, the pic blows up and you can see how the scheme is done. It is not my bike, but instead a moderator here works for the Harley dealership and he posted the pics.

The two tone looks great, good suggestion! I bet that paint job wasn't too cheap. Just for an idea, my buddy had his done with genuine hd paint and it cost him $300. I had my inner fairing, cap and a chopped tour pak painted with HD paint and it ran $500, these were not two tone.

I got a quote while at the Hog Hollow rally this past weekend for $200.00 done in Sunglo blue from a friend of mine who has a paint/body shop.

I bought one off of Ebay for 125.00 and got it painted vivid black for 75.00+25.00tip=100.00 from a buddy of mine who ownes a paint and body shop. I also bought some spun aluminum gages. I installed the gages, but chickend out on the fairing (it looked too crazy in there) paid for 3 labor hours at local HD dealer. My stock one is one Ebay and it's up to 112.50. So the whole thing will net out at +/- $300.00 without the gages. Looks like a million bucks.

GUy in Jacksonville does mine, installed for $300. He's done my last 3 and each has been perfect. I'm a pretty picky guy too. He drives to me with a painted fairing ready to go. His name is Paul and you can find him on Craigslist in the Jacksonville section of Florida.

get 3-4 of your buddies to do it and I'd bet he'd come down there and do them all together. Takes him less than an hour.
