Brakes failed.
 

2012 Ultra Limited with only 12,500 miles.

I haven't been able to ride this bike much due to health issues but have kept up with maintenance at the dealer and ride it to work as often as possible to keep things working right.

I hopped on this morning for the 15 minute ride to work and the rear brake pedal went straight to the floor at the first stop sign. The pads were replaced when I had new tires installed about 100 miles ago, no sign of fluid leakage.

Since it's an ABS bike I'm assuming the dealer is going to bend me over on this one - I hear they have to have some type of special machine to bleed them but I fear this is a total master cylinder failure as there is no pedal at all.

Even if the rear mc failed completely it should not require bleeding of the abs module. If it's still under warranty let the dealer do the work. If not find a good Indy to do it. That is if you are unable to do the work yourself. I'd do it myself but I don't know your skill set or health related issues.

I'm not set up to work on it, I bought this bike because my '08 was having so many issues - but I rode the wheels off that one.

I'm getting ready to sell this one so I think I'll just take it in and have a full service done on everything. Still unnerving at only 12,500 miles for the brakes to dead fail like that.

Hopefully its the rear master cyl. and not your ABS module. ABS bikes should have brake fluid flushed out and replaced every two years to stop internal corrosion of ABS unit.

Oh man I hope not.

I had a 2009 Ultra that I purchased used with ABS and experienced a similar issue. All the dealer had to do was flush the system and replace it with new fluid. They use the Digital Technician to flush the ABS system per the service manual. I paid about $150.00 (if I remember correctly).
