Default Broke the post on my tourpack antenna ...

I have a 2015 Ultra with the antennas on the tourpack. In trying to unscrew the stock antenna, rather than unscrewing, the antenna stud sheered off.

Unsuccessfully tried to grip what was left to unscrew it. Then it occurred to me - maybe it doesn't unscrew.

Does anyone know how to remove this? It is part #51 in the image below.

It looks like it should screw out and is just stuck. So, I'm thinking an Easy Out should work. Does anyone know for sure?

Advice?

On my 14 FLHTK, I lost the CB antenna and the stud. The stud did screw into the light assembly and the base of the antenna. I wonder if somebody used red Loctite on the stud? The replacement stud I used was P/N 76000166

There is a set screw on the older TP's that hold the antenna studs in. I cant tell by that small pic, but I do see something from the inside of the TP where the antenna is. That may be your ticket

Look at 23, 52 and 4

Same thing happened to me in the same side. 2014 FLHTK. For now I've left it. I don't have use for my antennas. I think I'm going to take the light bar off of the pack and drill it out. Winter project.

I had a '01 EGC and the antenna broke off at the base leaving nothing to grip on to. Bike was in for service and I asked the dealer to try and remove the stud. They wound up breaking the antenna housing and gluing it back together. My guess is that it is probably impossible to remove. Two choices, either look to replace the antenna housing block or change over to a fairing mounted antenna.

Unscrew #52 on diagram and then #51 broken part will slide out upward.

Thanks, Stang951. I think you are right.

I took apart the assembly and when I wiggle the antenna assembly (52), the stud (51) rocks back and forth. I tried to unscrew 52, but only with my hand as there are threads and I didn't want to trash it with pliers (its round, no wrench). I couldn't get it to come loose. There's not a set screw I can see and there isn't one on the drawing.

The place were they connect is inside the lamp assembly (29) that doesn't come apart.

I'm going to go to HD and get the stud (51) and look at the assembly (52). Maybe then I'll be able to tell how to get them apart. I think maybe 52 screws into 51. It looks like it could be that way in the drawing.

The diagram on page 2 looks like the antenna stud might be pinned by the antenna plug assembly (parts 51 &52 in the diagram posted earlier)

I searched on YouTube and found the following video that may be helpful.

2007 Harley Davidson tour-pak antenna replacement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auDmYKxN2yc

On the 2007, the antenna assembly (52) does screw into the stud (51). I assume, based on the way the picture looks, HD hasn't changed teh basic design.
