Default 2003 RKC fuel Mileage

I bought a 2003 Road King Classic last September and have been exceedingly happy with it. I installed a PowerCommander 5 and downloaded the map they offered on their website. I have kerker slipons with fishtail tips, and a high flow breather. The only other thing i have done with the bike is use 20/50 dino oil and am using E3 sparkplugs. Its been almost a year now and consistantly i get about 46.5 miles per Canadian gallon which figures out to 38.8 miles per US gallon. Im wondering if that is good, bad or average. I ride usually about 55-60 miles per hour as im in the rural area of Ontario.

thanks

it may be a little rich, or timing not advancing as much as it could

I was able to get 45 mpg/ 65 MPH out of my 80" evo FLHTC with careful carb tuning and timing adjustments.
...I never really recorded consumption at 90 or 100 kms like you ride...usually cruise a little quicker which drops due to air resistance ( same bike was 32 mpg at 85 MPH)

My 09 FLHTC with hi flow, supertrapps and xieds gets 43 MPG at 60~70 mph and was at 44 mpg stock.

I've seen alot of PC equipped bikes closer to 32 mpg so I figure you are doing very well.

I ( me) don;t think much of the pre-07 HD EFI or the PC ...so I don't have either.

It's not bad but not great either. For comparison my 08 Road King Classic regularly got 44 to 45 mpg before I had it bumped up to a 103 and added cams. Now it's about 40 mpg.

Different beast but my 13 Limited gets about 36 mpg.

How many miles on the bike?

Change the fuel filter (little bit of a pain) and run some seafoam through it.

I was getting 44 mpg until I added cams (my 02) now it gets about 39 or so. I usually run 65-70 mph on the 02.

Plus I always run 91-93 octane....not sure if that makes a diff.

Just over 20 k m/34 k km. Pulgs are burning good. Starts everytime and is smooth. I dont have access to a dyno anywhere close so the canned maps from Powercommander is all i can dnload. Im happy with the bike just wondered if its running the same as others
