Default OK and NOT OK

Why do you think MOCO did away with the oil pressure readings on the new engine? A couple of forum members with the new M8 have already reported oil pressure problems at idle. Dealer could not duplicate. Seems strange Moco doesn't want you to see the pressure reading.Other thoughts on this?

Lower Idle speed, lower oil pressure.

No oil pressure reading on the infotainment screen, is that what you are saying ? ?
Did they put back the useless air temperature gauge ? ?

NOT OK !

Very few bikes have an oil pressure gauge, usually just an idiot light. So OK is well, OK.

They added engine temp but I thought oil pressure was still there. They must have just replaced oil pressure with temp.

There's a darned good reason for leaving off that silly oil pressure guage - threads like this! Owners get fixated on pressure instead of enjoying the ride. My favourite indy reckons they are more trouble then they are worth and would ban them if he had any say in the matter. Seems he got his wish!

as long as pressure falls between specs, OK is good enough for me. . Vehicles have had idiot lights since beginning of time and the sun still rises.

I'm just curious; what are the oil pressure problems they're having?

Sorry my thread is not up to your standards. You and your indy sure seem like a match.Myself,I like gauges on my motors and my thread was asking forum what they thought of Moco dropping gauge pressure readings from status screen. Was it to save money? Didn't want rider to see low pressure at idle? There has to be a reason to change it.

My younger brother was driving his pos S10 pickup from BG to Toledo, about 20 miles, halfway there, his temp idiot light came on, so he immediately pulled into a center turn lane and drove as fast as he could back home... he didn't make it. LOL That is why they are called idiot lights.
