Default De-Cat Stock headers on a 2016 SGS

So I have been reading many threads on de-catting the stock headers and find that doing this one mod may give me the sound I want out of the stock mufflers. My question is, do I look to have a window cut to remove the cat, or can I drill it out carefully and use a shop vac to get out the bits and pieces of the cat. Looking for all suggestions as to "how to" and if you can PM the name of an indy on Long Island NY that does this for a reasonable price, it would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I did it with a 1" paddle bit. Scraped the sides clean with a long angled pry bar. I think it was a 14" paddle bit. Don't just try to straight drill it. That sucked. I ended up spin it up and jab. Broke it apart real fast. No need for a shop vac. Just dump it out as you go. It's easier off the bike. Make sure you remove the o2. Sensors after you pull the pipe off.

removing the cat may void your warranty with the new EPA crap. I want to do a stage 1 on my 2016 street glide and my dealer told me it would void my warranty. Just an fyi.

Right, and other dealers will gladly do the work and cover it under warranty.

If your dealer is making a bold statement ask of it in writing, you'll probably be told no.

Ask him if he's knows of the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act and if he would explain the part where making that claim is illegal

Just saying.
This has been discussed Ad nauseam

Magnusson Moss Warranty Act and unlawfully removing the catalytic converter... don't understand how they are possibly tied together.

The comment was that the dealer claimed doing a Stage-1 would void the warranty.

The warranty covers many aspects of the vehicle.
To arbitrarily void it is ridiculous.
To not cover a warranty claim because the modification caused the problem is another matter and the dealer would need to prove the modification or aftermarket part was the problem.

We keep hearing that if you do "A" it voids the warranty. Bullshit

My dealer told me as long as I don't open up the engine on my '16 SGS, I won't affect my warranty thru them. I already have stage one done and de-catted header off eBay. Bought mine for $109 shipped and had it in 2 days
