What is your best riding temp
Today I started out at 9c(48ish) and mid afternoon it was 65. I have always liked the cooler temps way more than the hot high temps. I can dress for the cool stuff but the heat is tough on me and the bike. My 09 ultra pulls hard and I got to hold it back at 60f. I have and will ride down to below freezing but not to the point there would be ice on the roads. Not that crazy to ride.
What's your ideal riding temps? |
I also like it cool. About 65-70 degrees. Although that may seem warm to some. Agree the bike runs alot better when cool as well.

I am just like you I love cooler temps like in the spring and fall.

I've ridden from 17*F to 118*F. Those are the extremes but in all honesty, I'm really ok with anything between 40*F to 90*F.

All depends on my jacket and liner. I have a heavy leather, a Hillside Leather/Cordura, and a HD mesh.
My favorite trips would be days in the 70s. 45-75 is fine. Don't ride under 36, too much black ice, cold hands. Have ridden at 103, but it's tiring. I do like the extra power you feel under 50, but it's cold in the 30s, plus days are too short, and I don't like night riding in deer country. So bike will be stored in November. I rode yesterday, in the rain, 55°, and I was the only bike I saw on a hundred mile trip. It was tough to leave the garage, but I was looking forward to the ride home. It was still around 58 on the way home, and I regretted not having my liner with me. Not dressing properly is annoying. |

My favorite riding temps are 50-70F. Although those temps are far and few between down here. JR

I have to chuckle about posts like this. It all depends on where you live. Down here in Houston it's hot and humid. 100 degrees and 100% humidity are not uncommon for this time of year, yet it doesn't seem to affect the bike. It's unusual to have a freeze for more than a day or two, and I can count on one hand the snows I seen in my almost 59 years.

On the Sporty, I like a range from 65-85 w/low humidity.
On the Glide, anywhere from 45-80 is really comfy...here in the Midwest. Also, BTW, cooler is better for me b/c the bugs tend to stay hidden. |
