Bassani Xhaust 2into 1 Help

I just installed the 2-1 exhaust on my '16 road glide and the first time I started it I had condensation coming out of the muffler (not the tip) where the connection to the head pipes is. Is this normal or did I not "slip" on and tighten down the muffler enough? Sorry I did the install myself and I am by no means mechanically inclined. Thank you!

Water vapour is a by-product of combustion, so that is not unusual, but coming out at the joint indicates that it isn't sealing fully. It is worth tightening the clamps to see if that helps, otherwise use an exhaust sealant on that join.

thanks I tried to tighten again - maybe time to get some sealant

I just got done repairing a similar issue, left side slip on to cross over. Re-torqued a little more still had slight leak. Put a bead of this around the cross over end smeared it around, then slid the slip on over it and re-torqued.

Permatex copper is great stuff.

Thank you all - I will re-tighten now that I rode the bike for a while - if seal still leaks I'll pick up some sealant.

Make sure the slip on is on the head pipe far enough before tightening it further.

I "always" seal w/liquid copper...exhaust leaks suck! Do yourself a favor and add it to your garage supply.

Since I just did that, is hard to get the muffler back off the headpipe?
