Default Valvoline 20W50 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil

Anyone ever use this oil? Just wondering. I am thinking about using it in my Limited when I do my 5000 mile service.

I would stay away from it. Exhaust baffles don't get proper lubrication.
Also isn't it a bit early to start asking about oil? Winter is not here yet.

muddmann,

Check out the Oil and Oil Related section and do a little research. LOTS of discussion on oils there. Have never used it but seems to have a good following.

yes, it's a very good oil. Come to think of it I don't know of any name brand oil these days that is not good. The key is to change on a regular basis no matter what brand you use.

I've usd it for the last 10+ years and on both my Twin Cams......

NOTE: engine only... I use gear oil in tranny and HD Formula + in primary

I currently switched oil brand, not for any fault of the Valvoline, but just because....

Not sure about it in the trans and primary, but it should be fine for the engine.
I used regular Valvoline in vehicles for many years with no problems, but upgraded everything to Mobil 1 Synthetics a few years ago.
Valvoline (Ashland Chemical) makes lots of quality products. Just be aware of particular needs for the trans and primary.
Oh, and Mobil 1 keeps my muffler bearings shiny and spinning smoothly...

I've been using it for several years. I like it. It has the JASO cert that some other synthetics don't.

I used it. switch between Mobil 1 and Valvolone depending on sale pricing. They both taste about the same.
