Fuel Moto Road & Track 2/1 Exhaust Review

I decided it was time to move on from my current V&H set up. Was looking to gain top performance and sound. So I knew a 2/1 set up was the way to go. Narrowed my selection down to either the Drago or Rush set up. Aside from the performance and sound I figured I'd want a "ghost" pipe as well. Both have them available.

I decided to give Fuel Moto a call since I've dealt with them when I installed my cams. As most of you know they're top notch customer service. They told me all about the Road & Track and also mentioned a "special". You can add a Power Vison for only $200 more! I had to do it.

The pipe shipped from California. That's where they are made. The description says the pipe is assembled and tig welded by hand. I know nothing about that but I had the pipe shipped to my work and the mechanics commented. "Look at those welds!"

Install was pretty straight forward, we're talking exhaust here. Only interesting thing was the FM exhaust gaskets fit right in. Not like the OEM ones that need to frozen and pressed in ever so gently. I did have to make two separate trips to the dealer for the OEM transmission bracket and OEM muffler hanger. The VH ones are different. The OEM carriage bolt on the transmission bracket was kind of a pain.

As far as the sound, wow! She's mean! At idle it's deep & low. When you crack the throttle look out! The guys at FM said once the baffle settles in it will mellow out a bit. Also no issues with having a single pipe I think it looks kind of like a hot rod!

Unfortunately been raining so bad last few days and forecast says all weekend. I'll update again after I get a few miles on her.

Any idea how it compares to a V&H pro pipe as far as volume goes? My pro pipe gets a little loud after long trips at highway speeds.

I have the FM 2-1 on my 117 Dyna. I've had several V&H Propipes. This thing is WAY better than the Propipe at speeds above 60. That Propipe muffler had a terrible load droan to it and got annoying on long rides. The FM muffler sound MUCH better at all speeds IMHO. Great power too, it delivered 123 hp ad 125 ft lbs of torque with the discs as delivered.

Just put my black one on two weeks ago and I am on the way home now from thunderbeach in Panama City Beach. Got about 800 miles on the setup and it will report to you when you are on the throttle but it does mellow some when you reach your running speed. Picked up great power too!

Are you running the Road & Track or E Series muffler?

Gunnysgt 10-23-2016 08:06 AM

I'm running the E Series muffler. I'm VERY pleased with it, particularly at high cruising speeds.
