Default GPS mounted on Speedometer

Bought a Garmin SP330 for my travels. Used it in my truck when I went to DC and loved it. Couldn't find a spot to mount it on my RK, tried the windshield, it mounted fine but seemed to vibrate alot and made me nervous. I then mounted it on top of the speedometer which, on my RK, sits on top of the tank. It may look a little weird going down the road but it is ez to read and rock solid, no vibration. Does anyone use the handlebar mount on their bike? Is it stable? I may look like a dork, but I know where I am going!!

That's actually made by RAM mounts - they're good units! They have a number of distributors...

The ball mount for the handlebar itself you kin git from Cabela's (or most any other sporting goods store...)

I just bought a new Garmin Zumo 550 GPS and since I have a J & M radio mounted on the clutch bracket I used the handle bar mount for the Zumo and it is rock solid, sitting just inboard from the J & M.

gotta clear front so you can see through it, and wraps around the entire radio. has a draw string at the bottom to keep it on.

What about heat?
The reason I'm asking is because the guys that I was buying from said the unit coudn't be covered or it would get too hot.

ain't had a bit of problem so far, and have been caught in some pretty good downpours. quite a few folks use them and haven't heard of any radios burning up.
