Default Saddle bag lock kit for 2007 RKC

Planning a long trip and would like to get a lock kit for the lids on my bags and tour pack. The universal kit on the Harley site looks like it would work, but it is not listed in the fitment options. Any tips ? Bike is 2007 RKC

I suppose the HD might work fine, but another alternative here.

Or you could opt for hard bags.

Nice bike !!!
I had looked at the Ponderosa Products locks but thought it would be easy to just cut the straps with a pocket knife above the locks. Hard bags would be nice but probably a budget buster for me.
Thanks for your reply,

I resisted the hard bag idea mainly because of used bag price most everywhere.
After a loooong search, I finally found a set on here off a 2011 for $300 shipped to my door. My local shop painted them both for $300.
I am very happy with the result and the price I paid. I think yours being an 07 you will have a better chance finding a set that matches your bike. The difference is day and night.
I will keep both to switch back and forth mainly for looks, I like them both.

I toyed with the idea of locks for the leather bags, but I think anything you get won't be much of a challenge for a thief, The weak point on the leather bags is the soft top. With the harley lock they can still lift the back and empty the bags.
As said above, the strap locks can be cut as well. Hard bags are much harder to get into.

Yes, they COULD cut the straps, but I've never had anyone mess with my bags. I have had the Ponderosa locks for 5 years just to slow down the crimes of opportunity. If someone isn't worried about destroying the bags, the latches on a hard bag aren't going to stand up to a pry bar either. The idea is that they see the locks and move on. Most thieves are lazy.
