ripsaw forgot to say if you change the belt you have to take the swing arm lose also
I actually had that in there.. but took it back out. You do on a Softail . Dyna and cruiser have the rear wheel hooked to the transmission and all that hangs together on the rubber mounts (crazy in a way hanging out there..has always looked dangers for handling to me). Was not sure about for them. Even looked in up in a Dyna service manual and it was not stated.
Dale, as tires grew, to make room, that is what happened. My duece has a narrow belt. The first Fatboy with the 200 tire looked like a broccoli band. I doubt you will run out of adjustment. I have never had to move mine in 30K. I just move the primary tensioner once since in 50K ..yours does look a lot worst then mine with those hunks yanked out.

Why did you have to replace rear pulley? You mean sprocket?Good news you didn't have to replace all mating parts. Thanks for the mileage quote too.
It was noticed worn out by the tech (no picture) during 2nd or 3rd rear tire change those tires didn't last more then 7k to 8k miles back then.I had quite few issues with that bike early on twice transmission, few compensators, few IP bearings and charging system can't remember exactly but primary was opened way too many times. Thanks for correcting the pulley part "don't listen to me what I'm saying instead listen to me what I mean".
