Question for someone using Progressive 944's?

I just received my 944's for my 2010 Ultra. I ride solo 100 percent of the time with the tour pack removed. I was wondering if anyone that weighs close to 180 could tell me what setting would work best for me ? They come in set to the minimum but I was thinking they might need to be adjusted just a touch. Thanks for your comments.

Shocks are a subjective thing. The way I set mine may be to firm for you, you may want a softer ride. As long as its not bottoming out when you hit a big bump, its pretty much ok.

Following. I'm interested in what people think about the 944's. I'm considering them for my '14 Ultra. I'm NOT 180 [:icon_eating:] and ride 2-up about 80% of the time. I believe common wisdom is to get the "heavy duty" 944's. I've also been told that Progressive's are now being produced in China and quality has slipped. I'm in no rush to change, but the stock air shocks certainly suck and have to go!

I had 944's. My ass was just to light for them they never really worked out for me.

Fit them as they are then take a ride. Bear in mind that new shocks take a while to settle in, so don't try to get them just right until you've done a few hundred miles. They are adjustable, so adjust them if you want to. Members also ask what pressure will give the best ride with Harley's air shocks, but they are not one setting suits all, any more than your new shocks. Ride, adjust if you fancy, repeat!

I go 1/2 turn from the minimum solo and 1 turn or so riding 2 up. I only weigh 165 and the wife and I combined won't hit 300. Ron

I ride solo and approx. 150lbs. I went with the middle setting in the beginning and adjusted them up or down on each ride until I got the best ride.

Have a friend set the sag for you and if you don't/can't do that then wait until a rally is on and if Progressive is there which in more cased they are than not, have them do it for you would be the best.

Thanks for the suggestions, since they are all the way at minimum setting I will probably give them a 1/2 turn and then install them. I think I read where if they are mounted with settings turned to all the way minimum or maximum that it can make them hard to adjust by hand in either direction. I also forgot to mention I went with the standard since I'm 5'7, 180 lbs riding solo 100 % of the time. I've thought about these for a long time looking forward to getting my air shocks and lowering blocks off.

I've 944UT standard springs on my wife's Limited Low set at showing 3 thread lines about 4 turns but she weighs only 130LB but tourpack makes for the difference in normal 180 Lb rider. They way I set them up find a rough road and start riding back and forth turn half turn after each run and you will be surprise soft setting is really not comfortable compare to stiff settings.Another thing to mark 4 different places to identify 1/4 ,1/2,3/4 and full turn since on these shocks can't really identify turns except the thread lines.
