Loudest horn???
#41
Don't know what to tell you but mine is the loudest stock horn I've heard on a wheeled vehicle that wasn't air powered, had a local cop pull me over about it after blasting it some asshat blowing a left turn light. He wanted one. Go by a dealer and try one sometime, they are no joke.

Could be how harley changes up other parts without a revised part number. M8 oil pumps are a good example of this and no Im not trying to turn this into a sumping thread I promise!

I just replaced mine with the 69060-90H thru Harley. When I got the horn, I looked it over and its made by Root Industries in India. Horn is model 75W. It shows to be 110dB and it is louder than the horn that was on my 2011 Harley Ultra Limited. Easy to replace under the cowbell. Plug and play easy. Now if I could just find a place to mount the original horn in another place, I would leave it on there too, or add another 69060-90H.

Don't think that's true....
The part numbers have changed over the years, it's just getting hard to find the actual OEM part number, unless you have a parts manual copyrighted before/on the bike's model year...
When you use an online parts finder, they replace the OEM part number, with an updated part number, where applicable. It will usually be marked with an asterisk..
The horn part # from my parts manuals:
2016- #69060-90H / 2012- #69060-90F / 2003- #69060-90D / 1997- #69060-90C
They even seem to update the part numbers in parts manuals....
My 2001 parts manual, copyright 2012, shows horn part #69060-90F (same as the 2012 manual).
I read that the 2014 Rushmore horns were improved to be 5db louder than the '13 and older models. I was unable to find my link to it.
When talking about sound & dbs, a 3db increase is a doubling of sound energy... so the difference between pre-Rushmore horns and Rushmore horns would be significant....
I would suggest that while not as loud as a good air horn, the newer HD part # horns will be louder than a 2013 or older, horn....
Again, FWIW....

What are folks using as a replacement for the anemic stock horn?
Would love to have a train or semi horn but cant imagine putting something that big plus compressor and air tank on my beauty.
I have googled and come up with Wolo, Custom Dynamics, Steibel, etc. Problem is that they all sound the same on youtube.
Need feedback from the experts on here. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be a which is the best oil to use kind of thread.
GO!!!!!
