Default Gas guage wiring

Hello all. I have a quick question about the gas guage on the left of the tank on my 05 road king. I was wondering if there's a way to take it out completely and have the gas light on the speedometer still work. I don't want that guage in There anymore. Is there any way I can do that? Any insight would be nice! Thank you!! Oh and when I unplug the guage the light comes on and stays on of that helps

nope

the sender turns off the light when the gas level is above say a gallon or so.

there are different cap/displays such as this type, although this is for a carbed bike, different sender

you could disable the light I suppose.

millions of riders managed without gauges- long as you have a reserve and a trip meter.
