Default Tour pack antenna connector

My antenna connector wire has shorted. Any one know the nomenclature for that 90 degree locking nut antenna connector? Have had no luck looking up CB or auto antenna connectors on line. Don't know if Harley will sell the connector with a short pig tale I can add a Motorola connector to on the other end.

Try looking here
http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc

It would also help to know year and model.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. They show a complete 102 inch antenna wire with appropriate end connectors which would reach from the tour pack to the radio. I was hoping to find another connector (if I could get the correct name) and splice it onto the wire I have now with a separate connector outside the tour pack to allow a disconnect for tour pack removal. If there is no other choice I can cut that 102 inch cord to about a 2 foot length to splice in.

The am/fm connector is a Motorola Connector. The plug for the CB is a PL-259. You can do a general google search, or try Radio Shack. You will have to solder them on.

Thank you. Soldering is not a problem, have had lots of practice. The connector on the antenna has a knurled, threaded ring on it that screws onto the antenna connector making it resistant to vibration. I am accustomed to the standard press together Motorola connectors but never saw one with the screw down ring when searching the net. Will check again. What I find for PL-259 does not match the AM-FM connector, hoped it would.

That's for the CB, the regular radio is called a motorola connector.

Thank you for the interest. The link you provided is for the male Motorola connector that plugs into the radio. I have several male to female connections of that type gong back to the Tourpac. The antenna base inside the the tourpac has an exterior threaded connector with a pin recessed in the center. The antenna wire connector has metal end connected to the ground side and a receptacle inside for the pin in the antenna base for the antenna lead. Near the cable end of the connector is a raised ring. On the cable side of the raised ring is a knurled nut that threads onto the antenna base. This is the first possible example I have found of what I am looking for, it is the connector near the top of the picture.

Truck stops usually sell these things.
If you have a guy who repairs CBs for the truckers around the area can fix it.

Will check some tomorrow. Hoped to have a name a bit more precise than "threaded antenna connector thingy". I have the old one I can take in to see if they can match it.
