Default Rear Shocks???

06 ultra, Im 220# wife 180, 40# rear tire and 35# in rear shocks with usual, rain gear coats etc. the bike will bottom out on the highway! On a 70 mile stretch of highway it bottomed out 5 times. What is wrong?? I,ve used more than 1 gauge and the pressure is right. The bike feels like i,m riding dragging baggers or riding a unicycle at times. Any suggestions??

I-65 north of Louisville, KY. Shocks dont leak. Pressure will stay where you set it.

Progressive 440 HD, give them your weights and they will build you a better pair of shocks than Harley ever dreamed of.

I have about the same weight and run 20-25 lbs in the shocks plus pull a trailer and never bottom out. Something is wrong with one or both of your shocks. With the pressure you are running it should be a little on the stiff side never bottom out.

If you are going to change shocks anyway go with the Progressive that was suggested.

Thanks, I,ll take it back to the stealer. It,s still under warranty. I was thinking about a rack for the tour pack, but I,m afraid it wont hold the extra weight. I,ve had it bottom out with me at #35!! and no I wasnt moto crossing. Later Dan

As the above post said: The 440s are wonderfull. I went from the stock 13" to 12" 440s and the ride is much improved, especially 2up. I did try the 412s and were disapointed in the 2up ride quality.

I completely agree with this statement. I went to 440's with the HD spring and it has been awesome. Airshocks where a PITA
