Default 2016 CVO Road GLIDE - Is this a good deal?

Hello All,

Right now I own a 2014 Limited that I might trade for a NEW 2016 CVO RG. Trying to figure out if the following is a good deal...

Trade: My bike w/6500 miles. Vivid Black with some chrome pieces, some blacked out pieces and a Stage I set up.

The Dealer is 'over allowing' the trade at $20K, He says it should be around $16K (I owe HD finance $17K - so there's a + $3K that will be applied to the CVO at the bottom).

Before any trade is applied, they're selling me the CVO for $37K + freight & prep at approx $1400 for a total of $38,400.

When the dust settles; trade money, CT sales tax, 'paperwork' fees applied and all, it's mine to finance at $36,400 (before any additional down payment).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated..

Not bad.

You will be upside down on the new bike but we all are.

I think they could lower the price on their bike, but are actually giving it to you on your trade.

If you are happy go for it and enjoy!

They're discounting them 6k here.

It's a great bike. You love it. If you've never been on a Roadglide. You're in for a treat.

It all boils down to the payment. If your good with that. The rest is just getting it done.

If you like the choice of upgrades they put on the CVO then you're good. On the other hand, you could buy a basic RG for around 20k and put one hell of a better motor in it for the 18k balance.

What was the MSRP of the new CVO? Take off $6000 to get to the cost/invoice. Then look at trade in value of your Limited from KBB (wholesale). Do the math, what is the real trade difference? Then add taxes on the trade difference plus title and doc fee's.

Last September I was offered a NEW 2016 CVO RG for 34,00. I wanted to trade my 2015 Ultra Limited with 18,000 miles on it. All stock except slip on's, They were going to give me 15,000 trade. I owed $13,000 so $32,000 + setup and fees I was back at $34,00. I passed on the deal. They still had the bike on Dec 20th. I went back in Feb 2017 and it was gone. I didn't Want to put 34K on a last years model with the old motor in it. They are a sweet ride and run very well. I'm happy with my Limited and knowing that my payments will be over sooner. You'll have to make up our own mind. The payments are yours. What color?

6500 miles... Are you even going to ride the new one? What do I know it's your money... Me I'd pay the current bike off first.

Don't forget the minute you ride it off the lot it's now a used motorcycle. Worth what all the other used 16 cvo's are bringing.

What's wrong with your current bike? Why not keep and ride it?

The short answer is: I'm a horse's a$$.

The long answer is: although I don't ride far, I do ride every day the weather's good and I've always wanted a CVO. Plus I convinced myself it's my last bike and NO more mods.

However, once a horse's a$$....Always a horse's a$$
