2010 Ultra Limited Volume Level Maxed but very little sound

Whether on AM, FM, or CD, volume is very low, even when maxed out. AVC works, but volume is still low. When I turn off AVC, it's worse, so I know the AVC is working. I have sound out of all four speakers. I'm questing the radio has taken a dump. Am I missing something?

I forgot if this is a quirk on my wife's Durango or my Ultra. Something to watch for is, if you are trying to change volume on, say, intercom and the radio kicks in while you are lowering/raising volume, in fact you change the volume on the radio unintentionally [not the intercom as intended]. Isolate the radio and adjust volume.

If you have a means to listen through a headset/headphones you could see if the volume is normal there. If so I'd guess there's a problem with the final amp. You could also take the outer faring off and verify that all the plugs and connections to the radio are clean and tight. I'd pull each one and reseat each to be sure.

If all the wires look good pull the radio and send it to iron cross audio in New Jersey those guys are great. Believe it or not Harley had a problem with the heads on the handlebar bolts that were too long and hit the bottom of the radio causing damage. I know this because I had the same thing happen on my 2010 ultra my radio would work but no sound at all they will do all the updates and give you the part number for the new bolts
