'17 CVO Limited 117 Stage IV Jackpot headpipe + tune = 128hp/128ftlbs

I bought my 2017 CVO Limited at the end of Oct 2016. I rode it 1500miles by mid December and decided to upgrade to Stage 3 (117cylinders/pistons + valve springs + SE Street Cannons + Hi-Capacity clutch w/ 1200N springs) before the 60 days ran out to have the Stage 3 upgrade included in the originally factory warranty.

The factory stock bike dynoed at 86/115 SAE 5th gear.

The Stage 3 117 with the 498 cam dynoed at 103/116 SAE 5th gear.

Of course, Harley then launched their Stage IV in January after I had the Stage 3 completed in December. I decided after another 500 miles with the Stage 3, I would get the Stage IV upgrade. I had my local dealer upgrade the bike with the Stage IV parts – 64mm Throttlebody, 5.5gms/sec injectors, CNC ported heads, 515 SE cam and the Harley ECM flash.

The Stage IV factory parts with the Harley map plus the factory headpipe were good but it very easily banged up against the rev and speed limiters. It was a nice performance increase

SOUND: I’m generally not that concerned about the “sound” of my bike. I run a Fatcat on my other bike with lots of engine mods. It’s very powerful and sounds like a solid lifter big block Chevy …in other words, loud and “pissed off” all the time. The bike always sounds “angry” and is sure to wake up everyone and everything around me. My new bike’s combination of the 117 + SE Street Cannons is just “PERFECT” from my perspective. Very low, deep sound. Crisp and very Harley-like but calm enough that 2up riding for thousands of miles will be a pleasure compared to the Fatcat.

POWER: Wow!...The numbers are really strong 128/128 for a build with all internal Harley parts but putting the numbers aside, the ride is EVERYTHING I hoped it would be and more. The SE hi-capacity clutch with 1200N springs ran on the dyno with no slippage at all. No need for a clutch upgrade. I ran the bike about 120 miles yesterday. Tons of low end torque. Roll the throttle at 2000 rpms and the bike jumps to attention. Wack the throttle at 3000 on the highway and you’ll snap the bike easily for a pass. Just a completely sweet running bike.

Great numbers and look at that torque curve - brilliant! No wonder you're smiling...... :icon_toast:

Very nice torque curve, I like the curves like that, long and flat. Power everywhere. Makes for a fun bike to ride.

Heatwave,
How much louder did the bike get with the new headpipe? Right now I have a stage II with the SE cannon's and I really like the fact that I can baby it through the neighborhood, but then when I kick it in the ass, it really wakes up. So I'm not looking for a huge volume increase, but would sure like to move that heat off my ankle. So, I'm considering the a the same headpipe from FM.

And congrats on a really cool build!!

Go for it. I've now experienced the 1) stock 114, 2) Stage III 117 with factory headpipe, 3) Stage IV 117 wih factory headpipe and HD map

I just finished my 3rd engine build and I swear by a good tune. I have had bad ones and the difference in the drivablity that doesn't show up on the chart is substantial. The smart tuning devices and dealer downloads can get you by but they can't compare to a well done setup.
