Replacement Wheels for '10 Classic
#21
Looks like I can get a set of 16/17" Chisels, matching rotors, install kit, and new WWW tires for a little over $2K from Surdyke.
Not sure if there's anything else out there at that price point that I should look at, but I will do a little research on some forged options before I make a decision. Seems like most of the aftermarket wheels start at 18" up front, which would probably eliminate WWW as a tire choice.

So I ended up chatting with Hogpro today about their wheels. I also went back down to the local dealer to compare sidewall heights...17 vs 18 vs 19s. I definitely don't want a 19" front, sidewall is just too short for the roads here in NorCal. The 17s look similar to my stock 16s, plenty of rubber there. Interestingly enough, the 18s look ok, and are now factory on many bikes so I think I can live with them. I'm considering going with a 16/18 combo. Given that Hogpros are billet and not much more $ than the HD wheels, I'm now considering these:

I'm ok with ditching the whitewalls now, I'd need to decide on rubber, and prefer something that's sticky as I only ride a few thousand miles a year.

[QUOTE=Keithhu;16110430]I have a set of stock take-offs from a '13 Road Glide Ultra that will work. You can have them for the cost of shipping. Very good shape. Rubber is good too, but may be aging out.
Hi Keith,
Unless I missed something did anyone take you up on this offer?
May be interested.
any idea of shipping to 58271 im in Canada and would just ship to my nearby border.
Thanks

I unfortunately declined the generous offer and will now end up spending some dough on after market billet wheels :-)

latest update, I'm working with Hogpro on an 18/18 combo. After spending some time at my local dealer, I believe there's ample sidewall on the 18s for my intended riding style--back roads and solo.
Need to decide on tire brand, looking at both Dunlop American Elites and Michelin Commander IIs in 130/70/18 and 180/55/18.

yes the rear tire is a little taller than stock, but given the wheel is billet aluminum it's probably not any heavier than stock. I will get the weights..
