Help, I can't decide. RK or SG???

Everyone that has a road king will tell you it's the best.
Everyone that has a street glide will tell you it's the best.
Find a dealer that will let you test ride both and make your decision. They're both good and I'm sure you can handle both. You may not like the radio but would use the GPS on the street glide? Edit, you got to ride them both now?

I'm 58 and ride a 2010 ultra and love it for comfort and relaxation the bat wing definitely will extend your riding season I don't like the paws getting cold and the bells and whistles are great not sure it the rk has cruise or not but I use mine all the time. As far as being too big you are an experienced rider take your time and get used to whatever you get and enjoy.

I am 59. I had a 2005 Dyna from 2005-2009. Loved that bike and put 45,000 miles on it before I traded it for a new 2009 Street Glide.
I sold the SG with 35,000 miles in July of 2013 (2 kids in college) and thought I was done with riding. I began to get the itch to ride again in the winter of 2016. I found a nice 2009 Road King with 8000 miles in March 2016. I really love this bike. The only thing i miss about the SG is being able to plug my GPS into the stereo. I never really cared for the bat-fairing. As others have said the RK is a great bike.
I still wonder if I shouldn't have gotten another Dyna with a six speed. The Dyna was a great all around bike. Rode well, handled well, was easy to maneuver in parking lots and could be set up with forward controls inexpensively (i miss the forward controls on the touring bikes).
Have you considered a used Dyna to ride for a year or two while they get a possible bugs out of the M8 and while you get used to riding a street bike and then trade in a few years?

we get hung up on price, and I understand. But I bought the first good deal I found, which was a RKC. I love that bike, but after a while, I want to try out a fairing bike. So I bought a new SG. Ah, what a great ride. Since that bike, I've owned an Ultra and 3 more Road Kings. All used.
My point is whatever you decide first, don't let yourself feel trapped. There is a good deal just around the corner.
My person advice is get a good deal on a 2014 RK because there a lot of used ones around. Have fun with it, then go test ride a new RK next January. If you shopped well, you can break even on the trade. Or, you like the RK so much that you get an M8.
It's a lot of fun.
