Thanks Firenailer, appreciate the info! Sounds like you liked the Road King. Did you consider the 17 Road King with the M8 and new suspension, or what was it that persuaded you to go with the 17 Street Glide?
You know its funny I LOVED the look of the Road King. I've had a lot of bikes over the years and it was the best looking bike I've ever owned, and it always got comments everywhere I went. It was a cool bike!
I took quite a few test rides on the Street Glide at different events at my Dealer and it just always felt like it fit me better, everything was just a little more comfortable on it, I felt like it handled better - and while its only my opinion, I thought the buffeting and wind management was better on it (which isn't a big deal on a 100 mile day, but I like to take my vacations on my bike - and day after day of bobbleheading for 350-450 miles gets old - again - for ME. Everyone is different)
I think that your gonna be happy with either one but the Glide to me, just has a little more going for it.
Finally decided on a Road King. Brought it home last week and riding every chance I get. Couldn't be happier with the decision, this thing is friggin awesome!!! Thanks to all of you for your words of advice!

Congrats!! It's hard not riding it without a smile on your face.
I had a RK and really liked that bike. The only reason I changed is for the fairing, radio and ABS at the time. To me the handling difference was not very noticeable. I have an EG classic which is set up basically as a SG. If you don't want a fairing or radio you pretty much answered your own question. Good luck
