Default How do you carry extra gas?

Going on a trip for all you can eat ribs (about 940 miles), and was looking in the garage and came up with a solution to a problem I might not even have. I have cans of 4 cycle gas called true fuel and was thinking would it not be a bad thing to carry one on the bike during the trip, just in case. Then I thought about it being in the saddlebag and getting to warm from the exhaust or sun, so I was like maybe throw it in a duffle bag on the passenger seat.
Anyway over thinking appears to be the order of the day, do you carry spare fuel and how?

In the East, especially with a 6 gallon tank, you are never far enough from a gas station to need to carry extra gas. If you do want to cover every possible circumstance, carry a small siphon tube instead. It's not volatile and addresses the same need.

If ya think ahead, there should be no need. You pointed out the obvious risks.

Yeah this seems a little silly unless you're going way off into the woods or something. If you're concerned about running out of gas, just gas up at the first station you see once you get under 1/2 tank. That'll also give you a little stretching time and an opportunity for some blood to make its way back into your *** cheeks.

Its a 3am to 7 PM ride, I was thinking I maybe on vapors and pull off to a closed station. a quart of fuel could get me to the next exit down 81.
Also not controlling the stops and they are thinking a stop every 200 miles.

You are overthinking this.
I've been riding for 50 years and been on many, many 8-14 day trips.
Never ever have I carried spare fuel and I have never gotten stranded.

If everyone is stopping every 200 miles, it's a non issue.
Fill up every time they stop, even if it's only 2-3 gallons.
Peace of mind and you won't run out of fuel.

Cool

I don't even understand the issue. Are you that far between gas stations?
