Default extra wires in the headlight housing

Hi all,
So I was adding a Headlight modulator to my bike and when I took off the headlight, there are two wires coming, one orange and white and one black with 90 degree female spade connectors. The orange wire's connector had a red plastic cap that was tapped on it.

Can anybody tell me what these wires are for?? Below is a picture of the wires. Bike is 2013 Road King Classic

Uhhhh

Any chance you have the service manual for your year and model?
If not, Google your year and model + "wiring diagram" in your search and it'll take you right to it.
More than likely some unused accessory.

At a guess I would say it's the live and earth for a European spec parking light.

Agreed.
Extra wires are usually used for International wiring.

It's for an international bike. But you can hook other stuff to it. I have a halo headlamp trim ring hooked up to it.

Since you have a classic I think they are the wires for the fender tip light on a RK which the classic doesn't have. I used mine to wire my running light to so they don't go out when the high beam is on.

Farmboy666, how did you do that? Which wires did you connect?

I bought the independent control wire harness (separate posting) to accomplish this same task but I am running into issues.

The wiring diagram looks like the orange and white wire is for the fender lamp and the black one is for a HDI position lamp (don't know what that is). Pic is below.

HDI position lamp is a little sidelight bulb in the lower part of the headlamp bucket...

I have one on my US bike in the UK

The fender tip wire has different style connectors - they are box type.

The independent control harness is for the running lamps I believe - enables them to be on when you are on high beam. If you have a halo lamp just run it off the two wires you have in your hand :-)

Sorry, just read - you are trying to get the running lamps on independent control.

So the loom uses the fender tip wire to get its power, you need to look for a long(ish) square connector.
